Blake Puffinbarger, a senior at Leedey High School, is a standout multi-sport athlete who represents her school and community with pride, grit, and heart. Whether she’s knocking down shots on the basketball court or delivering strikes from the pitcher’s mound, Blake is a fierce competitor with a drive that’s fueled by more than just the scoreboard.
Blake plays guard in basketball and takes on multiple roles in softball, including pitcher, infielder, and outfielder. Her versatility and leadership have been key in helping her teams achieve major success. Among her proudest moments are pitching in the Fast-Pitch State Championship and helping lead her team to State in basketball after upsetting the top-ranked team.
“I’m motivated by not being satisfied and the challenge of playing against tough opponents,” she said. That mindset has been crucial to her growth as an athlete, and it’s something that’s helped her earn the respect of coaches, teammates, and fans alike.
Blake credits much of her success to the people around her. “Good teammates and coaches, and the desire to win, have been the biggest factors,” she explained. She also gives a special shoutout to Daycee Danielson, calling her “the hardest worker on the team” and someone who makes everyone around her better.
Off the field and court, Blake is actively involved in several student organizations, including BPA, FCCLA, and FFA. Balancing academics and athletics isn’t easy, but she manages it through organization and the help of supportive teachers, especially Mr. McClendon, who has made a lasting impact on her life.
When she puts on a Leedey jersey, it means more than just playing a game. “Leedey is a small town,” she said. “I’m not just playing for myself—I’m playing for my teammates, my family, and everyone who supports us.”
With strong roots, a relentless work ethic, and a deep appreciation for those who’ve helped her along the way, Blake Puffinbarger is a true example of what it means to be a Leedey athlete.
