Brady Ives, a senior at Fairview High School, has spent his final year shaping his future in a place that quickly became more than just a classroom, the Northwest Technology Center in Fairview. While many students follow traditional paths, Brady chose to explore his creativity and curiosity through NWTC’s Digital Design – Game Programming program.
He first heard about Northwest Tech during his sophomore year, at a time when he was beginning to think seriously about life after high school. The idea of game design immediately stood out. For Brady, it wasn’t just about playing games; it was about understanding how they were built, how ideas turned into interactive worlds, and what it truly meant to be a developer.
At Northwest Tech, Brady found exactly what he was looking for. The program gave him hands-on experience and insight into the game development process, helping him build both technical skills and creative confidence. Each project pushed him to think differently, solve problems, and bring his ideas to life in ways he hadn’t experienced before. He describes NWTC as preparing him the best way possible for his future, giving him a real sense of direction.
Outside the classroom, Brady stays involved in Business Professionals of America (BPA), further developing skills that complement his technical training. Still, one of his biggest influences remains close to home, his older brother. Watching his brother succeed, both in football and at NWTC, and now preparing to become an electrician, has motivated Brady to pursue his own goals with determination.
Looking ahead, Brady plans to take time after graduation to focus on himself, find a job, and explore opportunities in photography, another creative outlet he hopes to grow. His journey through NW Tech has given him not only skills but confidence in choosing his own path.
For students considering Northwest Technology Center, Brady offers simple but honest advice.
“Pick any of the programs you think suits you best.”
For him, that choice made all the difference.
