Fairview’s Addyson Petty – Presented by Northwest Technology Center

Addyson Petty is in her junior year at Fairview High School. She is also in the Cosmetology program at Northwest Technology Center. She heard about Northwest Tech from a friend and made the decision to check it out and she is glad she did.

“My good friend, Taylor Haworth, attended the same vo-tech and encouraged me to attend Fairview’s campus to pursue my future cosmetology career,” she said. “The Fairview campus has amazing teachers and faculty who care. I knew this was where I needed to be to get the knowledge for my future career. And being a part of the cosmetology class is a great jump start to my career. I am pursuing my future career. It allows me to start working when I graduate high school.”

She knows that there may be some that are on the fence about going to a technical school. But Addyson recommends Northwest Tech to anyone.

“You will love the atmosphere,” she stated. “You feel safe and the faculty that leaves a huge impact on your life is definitely unmatched.”

Once she graduates, Petty looks to jump right into her career thanks to her time at Northwest Tech.

“After high school I plan to work at a salon and grow my clientele,” she said. “Also, I would like to become a cheer coach and pass on the knowledge I have received.”

At Fairview, Petty is a member of the cheerleading team and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. As a cheerleader, she loves to cheer on the Yellowjackets to victory.
“My favorite memory would be cheering our football team on to state my sophomore year,” she recalled. “Also, winning the championship back to back for two years.”

Throughout her life, Petty has had a number of people that have made an impact on her and helped shape her into the person she is today.
“One of my biggest role models is my mom,” she said. “It is because of her selflessness and how much effort she puts out to support my siblings and I.”
