Boise City High School junior Cash Desbien is a member of the FFA chapter at school and a right guard/nose guard for the varsity football team.
When Desbien got involved in FFA he was still in middle school.
“My FFA journey started my 7th grade year, and I became an official member of the FFA my 8th grade year. My parents and a close friend encouraged me to join,” said Desbien.
Since becoming a member of FFA, Desbien said he has been involved in many of the activities the FFA has to offer.
“I am involved in Livestock Judging, Public Speaking, Showing Cattle, and the Officer Team. I have shown cattle, but I did show goats for a couple of years when I was younger as well,” said Desbien.
The junior said he enjoys the trips and meeting new people as a member of FFA. Desbien said anyone interested in FFA should consider becoming a member.
“Just take the first step. It will be the best thing you will ever do. The friendships you make, the communication and leadership skills you develop will last you a lifetime.
Desbien said he started playing football in the fifth grade. He loves being around his teammates and competing on the field with them.
“What I love more about my teammates are the bond we have created,” said Desbien.
After high school, Desbien said he would like to further his education and return to Cimarron County to farm.
