Alva’s Lyndee Fraire – Presented by Northwest Technology Center

Lyndee Fraire is a senior at Alva High School. She is also a student at the Alva Campus of Northwest Technology Center, where she is in the Digital Design program. She enjoys the program that she is taking and says that she knew she wanted to attend Northwest Tech as soon as she heard about it.

“I was always interested in how Photoshop worked and how it was used,” Lyndee said. “When the opportunity came up, I was super excited to learn the different ways it worked. I first heard about the Technology Center when I was a freshman. All of the upperclassmen were taking a course at the tech center, and they had nothing to say but good things about the courses and teachers.”

As a student at Northwest Tech, Fraire is doing more than just taking a class. She is also preparing for her future.

“Northwest Technology Center is helping me get ready for the future by giving me real experience with things I’ll use in a career,” Lyndee said. “It’s not just about learning from a book; you get hands-on learning and get to be creative. It’s also helped me become more confident in what I can do, which I think is just as important.”

As a student at Alva High School, Lyndee competes in basketball, softball, track and field, cross country, and golf. She is also involved in the Key Club and the Student Council.

Throughout her life, there have been people that have had an impact on Fraire and helped her become the person she is.

“My biggest influences have been my coaches and my family,” she stated. “My coaches always pushed me to give my best and taught me the value of hard work. My family, especially my parents, have been there for me through everything, showing me that if I stick with it and believe in myself, I can get through any obstacle.”

Lyndee has enjoyed making a lot of memories throughout her career, but she has one that stands out.
“The most memorable moment for me in sports was tearing both my ACLs and going through the whole recovery process,” she said. “It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to face, but it taught me so much about my strength. There were times when I didn’t think I could push through, but getting back to what I love after everything, feeling stronger and more determined, was an unforgettable experience that changed how I approach challenges now.”

After she graduates, Fraire plans to attend Oklahoma State University to study communications.

“I’m excited to explore different areas within that field and see where it can take me, whether that’s in media, public speaking, or something else. I’m looking forward to this next chapter and the opportunities that will come with it.”
