Alva’s Clo’e Lee – Softball Spotlight – Presented by Ortho Oklahoma

Alva High School senior Clo’e Lee has been playing the game of softball basically her whole life.

“I first showed interest in softball when I would watch my older brother play baseball and I really wanted to try it, so when I turned four my mom signed me up for tee ball and loved it ever since,” she said.

Besides her love of softball, one thing has remained consistent over the years – Lee’s parents are role models that she has looked up to her whole life.

“I look up  to my parents as my role models,” she said. “They are amazing people and they always give the best advice and support while on and off the field.”

Her coach is another important figure who provides support and direction.

“The thing that motivates me the most would be Coach Burditt speeches before a game,” said Lee.

After her pre-game ritual of chewing a slice of gum, Lee is ready to take on any opponent. One of her favorites to go up against is Perry.

“My favorite opponent to play against would have to be Perry, because my four years through out high school we’ve always been head to head in every game we play,” she explains.

No matter who is opposite them on the field, Lee knows that her teammates have got her back.

“My teammates mean the absolute world to me,” she said. “They are like my sisters.”

With a whole high school softball career to look back on, Lee stills recalls an early moment as a stand out to her.

“One of my favorite memories while competing was hitting my first home run my freshman year,” she recalled.

The senior also plays golf for Alva High and says her favorite subject is English. After graduation she plans to continue her education in college and then become a nurse.
