Isaac Ramirez, a senior at Aline-Cleo High School, has built his high school years around passion, competition, and preparation for the future. Between basketball, baseball, track and field, and his studies at Northwest Technology Center’s Fairview campus, Isaac has learned the value of dedication and hard work both on the court and in the classroom.
“What I love most about competing is the energy,” Isaac said. “You put yourself out there to be the best and succeed. It’s even more fun when you’re competing against friends.” His most memorable moment came this year, when he scored 32 points during the homecoming basketball game, leading his team to victory. “It was homecoming, so you know I had to show out for everyone that came to support,” he added with a smile.
Beyond sports, Isaac’s time at Northwest Technology Center has shaped his outlook on the future. He first heard about Tech through older friends and from school tours. “What made me interested was how diverse the programs are and how well they prepare you for a career,” he said. During his junior year, Isaac joined the Health Careers program and earned his CNA certification, learning valuable lessons in care, responsibility, and professionalism.
As a senior, he chose to enroll in the Digital Design program, eager to explore creativity and technology. “Digital design opens a lot of doors,” he said. “It’s showing me how to create and handle real-world situations in a professional setting.” Isaac is also involved in organizations like TSA, BPA, and FFA, which help him build leadership and teamwork skills.
One of Isaac’s biggest influences is his family, especially his brothers, who push him to do his best every day. His older brother, a police officer, inspired Isaac’s plan to attend Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva and pursue a career in law enforcement. “Growing up, I saw police officers as protectors,” Isaac said. “I want to be that person people can count on.”
