As a senior at Aline-Cleo High School, Colton Stephens has built a reputation for balancing academics, athletics, and career training with confidence and purpose. Whether he’s sprinting down the track, hitting the court for basketball, or stepping up to the plate on the baseball field, Colton thrives on competition. “I love having the opportunity to go out and become a leader for my team and family,” he says. His proudest sports memory came during a regular-season basketball game against Taloga, where he dropped an impressive 28 points, an achievement that still fuels his drive today.
But outside the gym, Colton is equally focused on a different kind of goal: building a meaningful career through Northwest Technology Center’s Fairview campus, where he’s enrolled in the Health Careers program. Tech has given Colton a hands-on opportunity to explore his interest in healthcare and develop practical skills that will serve him long after graduation.
Colton first heard about Northwest Tech from his brother, and his curiosity grew after a friend earned a certification that quickly led to a good job. “That’s when I realized Tech could open doors for me too,” he explains. After asking questions and learning more about the program, Colton discovered his passion for helping others, something that felt like a natural fit for his personality and goals.
As a member of HOSA, TSA, and FFA, Colton stays active and connected, always looking for ways to grow as both a student and a leader. He values how the Tech program combines independence with teamwork, preparing students for whatever comes next. “It’s a great way to solidify your future,” he says. “Even if your plan A doesn’t work out, Tech can be your plan A too.”
Looking ahead, Colton plans to pursue his Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification and help a friend run a business. With a strong work ethic, a heart for service, and the knowledge he’s gained at Northwest Technology Center, Colton Stephens is ready to take on whatever challenges and opportunities the future holds.
