Aline-Cleo’s Christopher Chandler – Student Spotlight – Presented by Northwest Technology Center

For Christopher Chandler, innovation and ambition go hand in hand. The Aline-Cleo High School senior isn’t just an athlete balancing basketball, powerlifting, and track; he’s also a dedicated student at Northwest Technology Center’s Fairview campus, where his passion for technology is shaping his future.

Christopher’s journey toward Northwest Tech began at home. His older brother, a major influence in his life, first told him about the opportunities the Tech Center offered. Inspired by that advice, Christopher decided to follow a similar path and work toward industry certifications to prepare for life after graduation.

“I first heard about the technology center from my brother and decided to attend to get a certification so I could work at the local hospital in the ER and on the floor.”

That decision led him to earn his Health Careers certification as a junior, an experience that opened new doors and gave him insight into medical careers. But his curiosity didn’t stop there. With a lifelong passion for engineering, robotics, and programming, Christopher transitioned into the Software and Game Development program in the Digital Design track.

“Technology has always been something I am very passionate about. I love engineering and robotics, and I especially love the programming aspect that comes with it. Having an idea and watching it come to life is always very rewarding.”

Northwest Tech has provided Christopher with opportunities to work at his own pace and turn ideas into reality. From design projects to professional job shadowing, he’s using every chance to strengthen his problem-solving and technical skills.

“Tech has prepared me for my future career in a multitude of ways. Taking part in the courses here has allowed me to work hands-on and practice what professionals do in those corresponding careers.”

After high school, Christopher plans to start his own software and game development business, using the foundation built at Northwest Tech to turn creativity into a thriving career.
