RINGWOOD RED DEVILS
Head Coach: ETHAN JENLINK
2-8
There is a new voice in charge at Ringwood, and with it comes a clear mission to reset the program’s trajectory. First-year head coach Ethan Jenlink takes over a Red Devils squad that finished 2-8 last fall but flashes the kind of youth and senior leadership that can spark a turnaround. “We are looking to change the culture and have an outburst from our young guys and our senior quarterback,” Jenlink said. With a demanding schedule ahead, Ringwood is focused on daily improvement and building belief in what the staff is installing.
Offensively, Ringwood will operate out of a spread system designed to get its athletes in space and create one-on-one matchups across the field. Senior quarterback Triston Leary (6-1, 190) will be asked to steer that attack, using his size and experience to stretch defenses vertically and horizontally. Up front, the Red Devils will lean on a pair of promising young linemen in Cayden Mendoza (6-3, 250) and Judah Wall (6-2, 220), whose development will be key to protecting the passer and opening running lanes. As the timing in the passing game sharpens and the run game finds its rhythm, Ringwood hopes to become an offense capable of sustained drives and explosive plays.
Defensively, the Red Devils will base out of a 3-2 look, emphasizing physical play in the box and pursuit of the football. Leary returns as a leader in the secondary at safety, giving the unit a veteran presence on the back end. In the trenches, Mendoza anchors the middle at defensive tackle, while Wall sets the edge at defensive end, giving Ringwood length and strength on the line. With only three defensive starters back, Jenlink expects competition to be fierce as younger players push for snaps and help establish the identity he wants on that side of the ball.
