The Alva Goldbugs will have an opportunity to build up some fundamentals this year with first year head coach Ross Doane.
“We will be young and inexperienced. I believe we can be a very competitive team but I’m sure there will be some growing pains,” said coach Doane.
Alva graduated four starters from last year’s team, with the only full time starter returning in junior guard Connor Adair. Senior forwards Trace Hamilton and Kyler Martin played some valuable minutes last year and will be crucial on the court this season.
“I am counting on them to be a big part of any success we might have,” said coach Doane.
A group of juniors who will have chances to break out and make an impact include Keaton Adair, Tucker Hannaford, Keiden Kimberly, Coleman Gaisford, and Maddux Beck.
The floor is open to any young talent that is ready to put in the work and sharpen their skills.
“Our underclassmen have the ability to be a really solid bunch and I’m hopeful we can point them in the right direction,” said coach Doane.
