MEDFORD LADY CARDINALS

Coach: CHRISTY KELLEY

2024-25 Record: 20-3

The Medford Lady Cardinals will certainly be ones to contend with this year.

“This is a great group of young ladies,” said head coach Christy Kelley. “Their work ethic and competitiveness is unmatched. I am looking for good things to happen this basketball season.”

They return players who have experience and skill, including VYPE Top 100 nominee Kaydence Kilian, a junior who has speed and athleticism.

“Kaydence had numerous achievements her sophomore year,” said coach Kelley. “She ended her season averaging 15 points a game. She is a powerhouse in the paint and has worked hard to expand her game.”

Other returning players who will be relied upon are Kenna Kilian, Brinklee Blanton, Kassidy Kilian, and Ady Hammons. These girls had valuable court minutes last year for a combined total of 27 points per game on average. Senior Alexa Kalblinger and juniors Hayzlee Herrera and Allison Solis will have chances to jump in as well.

Hayden Malchoff is the lone sophomore in the lineup and her impact on the team is a special one.

“Hayden is possibly the most sincere, kindest, and genuine person I know,” said coach Kelley. “She is very open about her faith and isn’t afraid to share her love for Jesus to her team. She truly brings the peace with the storms. Hayden is a leader who makes everyone feel welcomed, appreciated, heard, encouraged, and loved. I have the upmost respect for her and how she truly lets Christ’s love shine through her on a daily basis.”

Rounding out the roster are freshmen Brennan Locke, Harleigh Reimer, Caedyn Abele, McKenna Loesch, and Chezney Dell.

Locke stands out as one to watch in the coming years.

“Brennan is a hard worker and is continually gaining significant playing time as a freshman,” said coach Kelley. “I see good things for her future as a Lady Cardinal.”
