CHISHOLM LADY LONGHORNS
Coach: TYLER HILL
2024-25 Record: 10-15
The Chisholm girls basketball team welcomes lots of new faces this season, between freshmen and transfers, both of which will provide the Lady Longhorns with some depth.
“We will be smaller and will need to use our speed and athleticism,” said head coach Tyler Hill. “We look to stay competitive and continue to improve our record.”
Freshman Kennedy Martin will help the depth of the post unit. A few sophomore transfers, Emalea Hicks and twins Kelsie and Kendal Hawk, will also add depth and bring more competitive energy along with returning players.
Emalea Hicks is an underclassman to watch due to her strength and ability to get to the rim and finish.
“She is someone who hasn’t reached her full potential yet and continues to grow daily,” said coach Hill. “Once she finds her rhythm with the rest of the team she will be in asset in the back court.”
Logan Snider and Callie Floyd add elements to the sophomore class. Juniors Melissa and Miranda Clark (also twins) bring experience in the back court and will look to lead the team along with post player Reagan Brinkley.
Coach Hill explains why Miranda Clark is a VYPE Top 100 nominee.
“Miranda is a combo guard with the ability to score at every level,” said Hill. “She is going to step in to a bigger role this year with hopes of being our primary scorer. She is quick and athletic. She is a multi-sport athlete with the experience to lead our team.”
Lastly, the team has two seniors who have been through it all the last four years and will play key roles this year. One of which is Ali Bukacek.
“Ali is that quintessential senior leader,” said coach Hill. “She leads on and off the court. Ali always makes sure that the team is on the same page and prepared. Starting wing, she can hurt you with her three pointers and gives great length defensively.”
