Oklahoma Bible Academy’s Jalynn McAlister – Presented by Jonathan Hendrix State Farm

The sound of a glove popping and the crack of a bat have been part of Jalynn McAlister’s life for as long as she can remember. “I am a freshman at Oklahoma Bible Academy. I have been playing since I was three years old and have loved the sport so much, I have never looked back,” she said.

It was her older brother who first sparked her passion for the game. “Watching my older brother play baseball inspired me to want to follow in his footsteps,” Jalynn shared. That inspiration has carried her through years of dedication to a sport that she says means the world to her.

As the Lady Trojans’ third baseman, Jalynn embraces her role with focus and grit. “I prepare for my position by working as hard as I can during practice and giving 110% during games.” Her love for the game goes beyond team practices. “Attending after school practices and games and spending time in my back yard working on fundamentals” is part of her regular training routine.

This season, Jalynn is determined to make the most of every moment. “To go as far in playoffs as possible, setting the bar high for my next three years in high school and to inspire the younger classman to do the same,” she said.

Her journey hasn’t come without setbacks. “Tearing my ACL and MCL in basketball last year and having to battle my way back to the sport I love” was a major challenge. But her faith carried her through: “Trusting in God and His plan for me.”

The payoff was worth it. “Getting clearance to return from my injury just a few days before the season opener and won the conference tournament,” she said, was a defining moment.

Jalynn is quick to give credit where it’s due. “Jesus Christ first and foremost, all my amazing coaches throughout my years of playing, and my parents for always cheering me on at every game.”

When she’s not on the field, Jalynn enjoys going to the lake, hanging out with friends and family, and shooting a bigger buck than her dad.
