Woodward Boys Soccer – Presented by Stride Bank

The Woodward Boomers enter this season looking to build off of last season. Head coach Kris Godwin is excited not just for this season, but also the future of the program as a whole.
“This group will be an exciting bunch to watch,” Godwin said. “They have been working hard in the off-season and getting a lot of touches on the ball. We look towards building on the momentum we left off with last season. We are a growing program with numbers nearing 60, which offers an opportunity for diversity and the ability to build depth. We expect to face the challenges head on and put our best effort into our performance on the field and in the classroom. These young men have bright futures and we are grateful for every opportunity we are given.”

A guy that will look to be a leader this season is senior Alex Wells, who is a confident midfielder who has the ability to play with both feet and is a well balanced dribbler. He  is a player who has a passion to play the game and he will have a huge impact on the team’s season.

Nick Bell is a freshman with great touch and drive on the ball. He has shown in the offseason to have the ability to compete and challenge peers and the older players in competitive play.

Another player that will be a big contributor this season is Kristian Perez. He plays the game at high speed and reads the field very well. Perez is coming into this season with a competitive passion and a willingness to do what is necessary to build success. He can play with both feet and loves to get the ball served his way.

Rylon Arnold is a great kid that has fully committed to work towards improving himself daily and strives to achieve the goals he has set out for himself.

Playing at goalkeeper this year is Jonathan Garcia Mata. He is a hard working, always smiling type of individual. He is always ready to jump in and do whatever he can to help his team to victory.
