Woodward Mom of the Month Nicole Graf – Presented by Randy’s Pharmacy

Parents make a lot of decisions in regards to their children. One of the most important ones they can make is deciding which school they want their child to attend. THey want to ensure that their child receives a great education and is supported by the teachers, coaches,  and community. Nicole Graf is the mother of two students at Woodward High School and she says that she loves Woodward school district and how it has helped her kids.

“I love that Woodward has so many coaches that are in it for the right reasons,” she said. “Coaches that are making our athletes stronger across the board, despite what their records may reflect. Coaches that are committed to building a program from the ground up. It’s a challenge and doesn’t happen overnight. The change is coming. Don’t overlook Woodward, we’re coming to compete.”

Graf’s daughter, Madi, is a senior at Woodward. Madi serves as the senior class president, she is a member of the National Honor Society, the Superintendents Advisory Leadership Team, and she has been a football manager for six years and was the football homecoming queen. Nicole’s son, Jake, is a sophomore and he is a member of the National Honor Society, and plays football, basketball, and runs track.

Nicole is the secretary for the seventh and eighth graders at the Woodward Middle School South Campus.

“I really enjoy my job,” she said. “I feel like the students and parents there know I would do anything to help any one of them. Having that relationship with them is important to me.”

Parents of high school athletes can go through a range of emotions during their child’s career, but Graf says that there is one that can be the toughest.

“Watching it come to an end,” she said. “When that day comes and it’s their last time on that field, court, or track. I think that’s the toughest. The days are long but the years are short. They keep us busy, we love every minute of it and will without a doubt miss it when it ends.”
