Fairview Lady Yellowjackets Basketball – Presented by Northwest Technology Center

There will be a lot of new faces on the court this season for the Lady Yellowjackets. But head coach Olivia Mallory is looking for her squad to have a solid season. “We will be extremely young this year with the addition of several freshmen who will make an immediate impact,” coach Mallory said. “Bentlee Bernard, our leading scorer from last year, will gain more experience and confidence in her sophomore year. We will be small and fast, hoping to cause a lot of pressure and to push the pace of the game.”

Bernard emerged as one of the team’s best players as a freshman last year and looks much more comfortable and confident this year. Bentlee spends endless hours in the gym and is a very competitive athlete. Another member of the team looking to make an impact is Josi Hayes. She is an extraordinarily good athlete with a great basketball IQ. She led her team to an undefeated junior high season last year and will play a major role on the varsity team this year.

Josi looks to have a big season for Fairview. Harlee Hamar has the potential to have a breakout year. She is a great athlete and will gain a lot more playing time and confidence in her sophomore season. She is a great all-around player and she should be able to play multiple positions on the court. Karsyn Pendergraft is a senior on the court this year. She earned a starting position last year and looks to keep that spot. She is an extremely hard worker, in the 30+ ACT club, and is an officer on our FFA team. Karsyn competes in numerous competitions and is competitive at whatever she sets her mind to.
