The Yellowjackets ended last season one game short of the area round of the playoffs. They have a lot of familiar faces returning and looking to help the team make a deeper run in the postseason. Head coach Mike Barton says that the experience they have coming back will be key for their success. “We have a strong core of players coming back this season,” Barton said.
“Four of our top six players are returning and we have a strong group of sophomores that will contribute this year.” Jax Bernard (5-10, Sr.) has been Fairview’s starting point guard for three years. He is a phenomenal student athlete that is not just a leader on the team, but also a leader in the school and community. Last season’s sixth man, Haddon Miller (6-2, So.) brings a lot to the court. He can handle the ball, is a deep threat from three, and can score inside.
Easton Hamar (6-4, Sr.) does the dirty work inside for the Yellowjackets. He will battle with the other team’s big men and be a dominant threat in the post area. Boden Miller (6-0, Sr.) is a guy that never seeks the spotlight but seems to find it due to his work ethic. He is a total team player willing to do whatever is asked of him to help his team. Other players that will look to make contributions this season are Austin Hickman (5-10, So.), Aiden Nightingale (5-11, So.), Alex Houk (6-2, So.), Ridge Cottrill (6-1, So.), and Noah Schmidt (5-11, Jr.).
