Oklahoma Bible Academy’s Conley Coyat – Presented by Ortho Oklahoma

“To be a great athlete, you have to constantly work hard and strive to get better every day; but also be grateful for what you have been able to accomplish,” a quote from Conley Coyat.

Conley is a senior at Oklahoma Bible Academy. She participates in basketball, fast-pitch softball, slow-pitch softball, and track and field. Sports have taught Conley how to work hard, persevere through hardships, and how to play for a bigger purpose than herself.

Her biggest role model, her late grandmother, taught her to never give up and to be grateful for what she has. Her biggest positive impact is her mom. “She is always encouraging me and supporting me in anything that I do. I wouldn’t be who I am without her,” Conley says. She gets her motivation from her faith in Jesus Christ. “I depend on God’s Word and truths,” Conley says.

Conley is also the STUCO vice president, in the National Honor Society, the SPUD team, and the football manager. Her favorite subject in school is math, and her favorite teacher is Mrs. Kroeker. Conley says “she is always coming to support her students at their activities and is always willing to help her students out with whatever they need.” After high school, she plans to continue to play basketball while attending Northwestern Oklahoma State University; studying to be a basketball coach.

Conley got her interest in sports from her family. Her dad is a coach, so she’s been around sports and found a love for them from an early age. She got her interest in basketball specifically from her mothers side of the family because they love basketball. She started officially playing in the third grade.

Conley’s favorite part about basketball is all of the memories, laughs, and fun moments that she’s made with her teammates. Her favorite sports moment was when her team beat Frontier in the Area Consolation Championship; accomplishing a childhood dream for her to get to go to state with her team.

Her advice to her fellow athletes is to continually work hard to accomplish your goals; but also have fun and cherish all of the memories.
