Chisholm Longhorns Basketball – Presented by Security National Bank

The Longhorns are looking to build off of last season and make some noise once the postseason rolls around. Head coach Cole Hibler says that his squad has a good mix of players that will make an impact on the floor. “Overall, we have good potential this year,” Hibler said. “We have a senior point guard, Langley Aman, who is a great floor general. Last year, he averaged just a shade over eight points, five assists, and one turnover per game. Junior Cooper Westfahl will look to have a good year for us. He led the way in scoring for those returning at 13.5 points a game.

Our younger sophomores and juniors who now have a year of experience under their belt will look to step up into new roles and bring great value to our program.” Aman (5-9, Sr.) has started and played a ton of minutes since his freshman year. He plays with poise and does a great job of running the offense. He is like a coach on the court and he is willing to do whatever it takes to help his team. Looking to continue to be a key scorer for the Longhorns, Cooper Westfahl (6-0, Jr.) has the ability to score the ball very well in a variety of ways. He will look to have a breakout junior year. Tayden Hamilton (6-2, So.) showed great upside his freshman year.

He shoots the ball exceptionally well and he continues to grow, and will look to have a bigger role this year and moving forward. While he is just a sophomore, Colin McVay (5-10, So.) is willing to do all the little things, like diving on the floor for loose balls and taking charges. He is also a very coachable player. Payson Bynum (6-1, Jr.) spends countless hours in the gym. He works hard when no one is watching. He does not seek credit for his efforts, he just grinds all the time in order to put himself and his teammates in the best position he can. Other team members looking to play a role this season are Noah Jackson (5-9, Jr.), Gage Smith (6-0, Jr.), Trevor Haws (6-2, Sr.), Joah Jeffries (6-1, So.), Andrew Bartley (5-8, Jr.), Keegan Brown (6-1, So.), Blake Thompson (6-2), Kade Deterding (5-9, Fr.), and Manu Smolinski (6-1, So.).
