Alva’s Jaycee Kelln – Presented by Integris

Jaycee Kelln is a multisport athlete for the Alva High School Goldbugs. Currently a senior, Jaycee plays both softball and basketball for the Goldbugs. In softball, Jaycee plays the positions of pitcher and outfield, and in basketball Jaycee plays guard/post. Many would consider Jaycee a veteran of sports, having played softball since age 8- for a total of 9 years, and has played basketball since age 6- for a total of 11 years of playing basketball.

In regards to what it means to represent her school and community as a student athlete, Jaycee proclaimed, “It means a lot to represent Alva while playing sports. We have amazing community support which is something I have definitely not taken for granted; I know it is not like this everywhere. It is pretty special to grow up here.”

As far as what motivates her, Jaycee explained, “What motivates me is just wanting to be the best and to help my team be the best, while contributing in any way I can.”

In terms of academics, Jaycee looks up towards many teachers. Jaycee explained, “The teacher that has had the biggest impact on my life has got to be my BioMed teachers during my junior year which were Brenna Koppitz, Kala Mead, and Kylee Pfleider. We always had a good time, while still getting stuff done in the classroom. They are truly amazing people who preached about being good humans; I know I can call any one of them and they would be there to help.”

Many memories are made during the career of a student athlete. Jaycee stated, “The highlight moment of my career has to be playing at the Big House twice, which I plan to do for a third time this year but finish with some hardware.”

Jaycee plans on continuing her education and continuing to play sports after graduating from Alva High School. Jaycee stated, “After I graduate high school, I will attend Oklahoma Baptist University to get a Business Degree while playing softball for the OBU Bison.”
