Woodward Boomers Football Preview – Presented by Randy’s Pharmacy

WOODWARD BOOMERS

Coach: KEN GORDON

0-10

OFFENSE

The Boomers enter this season ready to put last season in the rearview mirror and start with a clean slate. Head coach Ken Gordon is looking forward to seeing the improvements his team makes this season. “We are a young team that returns a lot,” he said. “We are looking to be better than last season.” Kash Carter (5-10, 185, So.) will lead the offense from the quarterback position. He is a great kid that has worked hard in the offseason to improve his game. Anchoring things on the offensive line will be John Ortega (6-1, 250, Sr.).

DEFENSE

The Woodward defense has worked to improve off last season’s performance that saw them allow an average of 40 points per game. Leading the charge on defense will be Bowen Morton (5-10, 210, So.), who will be a force for opponents to deal with on the defensive line. Kasen Boren (5-11, 220, Sr.) will have his head on a swivel at linebacker and will be ready to defend the pass or the run. In the secondary, Cooper Littau (5-10, 168, Sr.) will focus on slowing down the big plays of the opponents and keeping them out of the end zone. Assistant coaches for the Boomers this season are Michal Arvie, Nehemiah Lewis, Zach Warner, DaMario Mattingly, Kyle Shryock, and Mike Farley.
