CHISHOLM LONGHORNS

Coach: KEVIN BURNS

8-24

OUTLOOK

The 2023 season was admittedly a “down year” for the Longhorns, head coach Kevin Burns said. “Coming off a down year in 2023 with a team consisting of primarily freshmen and sophomores, three juniors and one senior, 2024 should be a much better season with most of the lowerclassmen getting a lot of experience last year,” Burns said. Only a sophomore, utility player Lois Alcorn might be the most anticipated returning Chisholm player. “Lois will be a sophomore who is unselfish and willing to play anywhere needed,” Burns said. “[She] finally settled in and played shortstop last year as a freshman. Works hard every day on the field as well as in the weight room. Will see action this upcoming season at three of four positions between the infield, outfield and behind the plate.” Jade Davis (So., Uty) is another do-it-all underclassman whose name Chisholm fans should familiarize themselves with. “Jade will be a sophomore who played primarily in the outfield last year,” Burns said. “She gets a good jump on balls hit in the gaps, has speed and a good glove. Will possibly split time between the outfield, infield and behind the plate this year.” McKenna Ridgway (So.) played third base her freshman year. Burns described her as a “quiet young lady who just goes about her business on the field” and a hard-worker. Addy Dunkin (Jr.) provides leadership for the team. “Addy will be a junior who has played the outfield for us the last two years and has continued to improve in each phase of the game every year,” Burns said. “Lead-off hitter with speed, good outfield glove. Very respectful, coachable, good teammate, quiet leader as well as good student in the classroom.” Briley Whitman (Sr., OF), Kylee Blosser (Sr., OF/INF), Amelia Alcorn (Sr., P/INF) and Macy Pina (Sr., INF/OF) make up the Longhorns’ senior class.
